Thanks to one of our superly amazing members, Adhoc were recently put in touch with an organisation called The Bigger Idea, who we have now fallen in love with and will be promoting all over Warwick this term.
Never heard of them? Well, here’s how they describe themselves:
Our goal is to provide young people with awareness of their potential, guidance and a place in which they can imagine and cultivate concepts while interacting with like-minded people. Most importantly we aim to help them get one step closer to full-time employment in their desired field, by gaining invaluable paid experience, networking, and building their portfolio.
The Bigger Idea is open to anyone, offering useful tips and helpful advice for young people interested in creativity, innovation, and social change. Every day we publish inspiring or educational content at www.thebiggeridea.co.uk to help young people advance their career aspirations and take positive steps forward in their life. We run free workshops across the UK to encourage creative thinking and teach the practical skills needed to turn a great idea into something of real value.
Every fortnight our team presents The Bigger Idea members with a live brief on a new subject, issue, or project. Those with the best ideas are offered mentoring, the resources, and the support needed to bring their ideas to life. We always aim to give constructive feedback to those who are unsuccessful and encourage them to use this guidance in their next proposal.
Interested? We knew you would be. To hear more info about the Bigger Idea you can visit their website, and come along to the Adhoc session in week 8 when we will be having a speaker from the Bigger Idea coming down to talk to Adhoc members! We will only be able to have a certain number of people in the room for the speaking event (annoying, we know, but there’s only a certain number of seats) so if you are interested, email us and let us know that you would like to reserve a place. Members of Adhoc Society are given priority.
